Boys - Spring/Summer Tryouts
West Michigan Drive was created in August 2011 by a group of individuals with a vision of building a basketball program that would look after the best interest of the players.
Prioritizing the coach/player relationship, individual player development, and a productive learning environment are the ideals that define our program.
With over 10 years of coaching experience and 5 years of administrative experience in the youth basketball arena, we are confident that the WM Drive team will be able to provide the most complete developmental experience for your child.
Ages
What aged players are appropriate for this program?
Example: Appropriate players at least 9 years old who have completed at least one year of Learn-to-Play .
When
What time of the year does this program run?
Example: Season begins with tryouts in March and runs until playoffs in July 2026.
Where
Where are practices and games typically held?
Example: Practices are held at the gyms around the Grand Rapids Metropolitan area. Games are played in tournaments across the metro region to across the United States.
Practices
When are practices and how often are they?
Example: Teams practice 2-3 times per week.
Games
How many games will they play? What days of the week?
Example: Teams will play 20-30 games over the course of the season and will usually fall on the weekends.
Jerseys
Are jerseys provided or are they purchased separately?
Example: Club jerseys are required and may be purchased at New Balance Team Store.
Extra Costs
What costs beyond registration fees should be expected?
Example: Expect team managers to collect tuition funds through crossbar installments.

How will I know if my athlete made a team?
After tryouts and team are assembled, each athlete will be notified with an offer from Crossbar via email.
Where do I gather more information about the season?
There will be a mandatory parent meeting set after all teams are solidified.
The parent meeting will address information to help families get the season started with West Michigan Drive.
When will the parent meeting be?
There is not a parent meeting time/date set.
We will be sure to be in contact with the families after tryouts.
